The 2nd ATU National Taekwondo Championship was held at Queescollege in Flushing, NY on June 20th 2009.   Despite of sudden cancellation due to swine flu, 750 competitors participated in the tournament and the event was a great success!  It was a great event to show the spirit of service to the members through the teamwork of all the officers not only in judging area but also in the whole management of the tournament. 

ATU will allocate the travel expense for Korea Open to the 8 winners in Olympic Division.  The demonstration team winners received $3,500 as prizes.  The names of winners for upcoming August Korea Open Taekwondo Championship are as follows:

Jeff Grahovec (Male Fly), Junior Rosario (Male Feather), Anthony Agard (Male Welter),

Phillip Yun (Male Middle), Giannina Otoya (Female Fly), Seung Kyeong Kim (Female Light)

지난 6월 20일에 뉴욕의 플러싱에 소재한 퀸스 칼리지에서 제 2회 전국 태권도 대회가 열렸다. 돼지 독감때문에 많은 회원들이 여행을 취소했음에도 불구하고, 750여명의 회원들이 대회에 참석하여 대회를 성황리에 마치게 되었다. 임원 전원이 심판뿐만 아니라 운영 전반에 참여하여 봉사하는 협회의 모습을 보여준 훌륭한 대회였다.
우리 협회에서는 올림픽 디비젼으로 8명의 남녀 선수들을 선발하여 코리아 오픈에 참석할 수 있도록 선수와 임원의 출장비를 지원할 계획이다. 데모팀은 총 $3,500불의 상금을 수여하였다.
이번 8월에 열리는 코리아 오픈에 참석할 선수들의 명단은 아래와 같다:
